In February 2014, Mathew (“Mat”) G. Eilerts steps down after serving a successful year as president of the 800-member St. Louis County Bar Association. Eilerts, a partner at Growe Eisen Karlen, previously served on the bar association’s executive board for eight years.
“My desire as president was to support and promote the St. Louis County Courts and our attorneys, as I believe we are one of the best bar associations in the State” said Eilerts.
During his tenure, he and other members of the association worked to increase membership by 15-20 percent, increase attendance, increase sponsorship and expand the association’s social media presence. Their busy calendar included many events. Eilert’s especially enjoyed the County Bar Picnic in honor of the staff at the St. Louis County Court, Judges and attorneys, which drew more than 500 people.
Other County Bar highlights in 2013 included: A trivia night in support of the Lupus Foundation, which raised $5,000 for the organization; a golf tournament; and a judicial appreciation luncheon that honored more than 200 Judges, including those from the Missouri Supreme Court, the Missouri Court of Appeals, and St. Louis City and County Courts.
Eilerts concentrates his practice in the area of family/domestic law, including dissolution of marriage, paternity, maintenance, child support, child custody, modification matters, and pre/post-nuptial agreements. He was recognized as a “Missouri-Kansas Super Lawyers Rising Star” in 2009, 2011 and again in 2012.
